Directions to the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum

The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum is conveniently located in Long Island City, Queens, 15  minutes by car from Manhattan's Upper East Side. The museum is easily accessible from major highways from Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey.

MUSEUM SHUTTLE-BUS

On Saturdays and Sundays, the museum runs a shuttle-bus service from Manhattan.  The bus departs from the northeast corner of Park Avenue and 70th Street (in front of the Asia Society) and travels directly to the Noguchi Museum. The bus leaves Manhattan hourly on the half-hour, beginning at 11:30 am. Departure times are: 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30.  The return bus to Manhattan leaves the museum on the hour. Return times are:  12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00. The bus fare is $5.00 round trip and does not include museum admission.   The bus seats 26 passengers. Unfortunately, we cannot take reservations and seating is on a first come first served basis.  Due to limited  seating, large groups are discouraged from taking the bus.

FROM MANHATTAN BY CAR

Take the lower roadway on the Queensboro Bridge from 59th Street and Second Avenue.  Take the first right exit off the bridge onto Crescent Street and go straight ahead through the intersection.  Continue for 2 more blocks to 43rd Avenue and turn right.  Follow 43rd Avenue until it ends at Vernon Blvd.  Turn right onto Vernon Blvd. and go north approximately 1 1/2 miles.  The Museum is on the right side of the street at the corner of Vernon Blvd. and 33rd Road.  The entrance is on 33rd Road.

Or, take the upper roadway on the Queensboro Bridge.  Turn right at the first exit in Queens onto 21st Street.  Turn right on 21st Street  and go about 1 mile north to Broadway.  Turn left on Broadway.  Broadway will end at Vernon Blvd.  Turn left on Vernon Blvd. and go  two blocks.  The museum is on the left hand side of the street at the corner of 33rd Road and Vernon Blvd.  Entrance is on 33rd Road.

FROM NEW JERSEY BY CAR (2 ways)

Go into Manhattan and take the Queensboro Bridge (59th Street Bridge).  Follow above directions from Manhattan.

Take the George Washington Bridge and get on the Cross Bronx Expressway.  Take the Cross Bronx to the Major Deegan  Expressway South.  Follow the Major Deegan South to the Triborough Bridge.  Go over the Triborough Bridge to Queens.  Stay in  the right lane and take the first exit in Queens at 31st Street.  Turn right on 31st Street.  Take 31st St. to Broadway and turn right on Broadway.  Broadway will end at Vernon Boulevard.  Turn left on Vernon Blvd.  Go two blocks.  The museum is on the left hand side  at the corner of 33rd Rd. Entrance is on 33rd Rd. on the left side of the street.

FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK, WESTCHESTER OR CONNECTICUT

Cross the Triborough Bridge into Queens.  Follow above directions #2. from New Jersey, from the point when you cross the Triborough Bridge.

FROM BROOKLYN BY CAR

Take the BQE East to Exit #41, called the Astoria Blvd. West Exit.  Go on Astoria Blvd. towards the Triborough Bridge.  Astoria Blvd. will turn into Hoyt Ave.  Follow Hoyt Ave. until you reach 21st St.Turn left onto 21st Street.  Take 21st Street approximately 1/2 mile to  Broadway and turn right.  Follow Broadway until it ends at Vernon Blvd.  Turn left onto Vernon Blvd. and go 2 blocks.  The Museum is on the left side of the street at the corner of Vernon Blvd. and 33rd Road.  The entrance is on 33rd Road.

FROM QUEENS AND LONG ISLAND BY CAR

Take the Long Island Expressway to the Grand Central Parkway.  Continue on Grand Central Parkway to the Hoyt Avenue exit, the last exit before the Triborough Bridge.  Follow Hoyt Avenue to 21st. St. and turn left.  Take 21st St. approximately 3/4 mile to Broadway and turn right.  Follow Broadway until it ends at Vernon Blvd.  Take a left onto Vernon Blvd. and go 2 blocks.  The Museum is on the left side of the street at the corner of Vernon Blvd.and 33rd Road.  The entrance is on 33rd Road.

BY SUBWAY

Take the N train to the Broadway stop in Queens.  You will be at the corner of  Broadway and 31st Street. Walk west on  Broadway towards the Manhattan skyline (towards the East River) until Broadway ends at Vernon Blvd.  Turn left on Vernon and go 2 blocks. The Museum is on the left side of the street at the corner of Vernon Blvd. and 33rd Road.  The entrance is on 33rd Road.  Please note that the walk from the subway takes about 15 minutes.
